Tingum Dem Band was formed in 2003 for the 30th Anniversary of Bahamian Independence. A group of musicians were compiled as the house band for the All Star concert by Fred Ferguson and Ronald Simms. While searching for a name, it was determined that 'Tingum Dem' was catchy and one that will be understood totally by Bahamians.

Tingum Dem has since been used for such marquis events such as:

• Exuma Heritage Festival
• Carifesta (Suriname)
• Carifesta (Trinidad)

• The Apollo Theatre (Caribbean Tourism Conference)
• Movie Premiere (Pirates of The Caribbean)

Tingum Dem has also played a number of private functions backing such local greats such as Ronnie Butler, K.B., Raphael Munnings, Freddie Munnings, Ancient Man, and more.

At present Tingum Dem is in the studio preparing their first album for a possible summer 2007 release.
